Cosmos bipennatus is an annual that attracts the Vanessas. Cosmos sulphureus is used for yellow dye. It germinates in 14 days at 20–30° C. Blooms in 12 weeks. Height 60–120 cm, space 30–45 cm. New shorter varieties are available for windy areas and the Seashell variety with tubular petals is very desirable.
