[Centaurea picture] Centaurea cyanus or cornflower is frequented by Black Swallowtails, Fritillaries and others for nectar. It was brought to America from France where it was important in folk medicine as a treatment for eye problems. A perennial it germinates at 18° C in 12 days. Space 30 cm, height 60–90 cm.
